Director of projects and of the Strategic Decision Center (NED) Industrial Engineer with a Master's and Doctorate in Environmental Engineering focused on the Management of water resources and Management of hydrological basins. Dr. Santillán has 10 years of experience, collaborating and directing technically, administratively and operationally various national and international cooperation projects in research centers, in a civil society organization, in the private sector, in an international organization such as the UNOPS and recently from academia.
It has more than 25 courses, diplomas and workshops which have enabled him to acquire knowledge and soft, technical and professional skills in topics related to its lines of work. He has worked on projects related to: Water resource management (Hydrological modeling, Water governance and adaptive planning), Adaptation and resilience to climate change (Ecosystem-based adaptation), Management of hydrological basins (Best conservation and restoration practices), Resilient and Water Sensitive Cities (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems and Zero Hydrological Impact), Flood Disaster Risk Management (Flood Analysis and Prevention and Hydraulic Modeling) and Nature-Based Solutions (Blue-Green Infrastructure).
It is worth mentioning that he is an active member of various networks such as the RETGIA network, REMEXCU, the SDSN Mexico Network as an ODS Expert in SDGs 6, 11, 13 and 15, and is part of the Core Group of the National Green Infrastructure Network. Also to say, that he has participated as a speaker in more than 20 national and international congresses, conferences, forums and seminars, as well as in webinars and conversations in areas of his expertise.
He has been part of the Evaluation Committee in different events related to the topic of water such as the National Youth Water Award 2021 and Sandbox SPLASH 2022 of the TEC Innovation Gym. He has collaborated in the publication of popular articles, reports and technical reports, a book chapter, a scientific article, manuals and technical guides, and extensive summaries.
He is currently preparing to participate in being a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) as a candidate for National Researcher.
